Despite failing to win a game, Fiji cricket coach Shane Jurgensen says there were some encouraging individual performances at the Under 19 Cricket World Cup.

Fiji finished in last place in their debut appearance at the U19 Cricket World Cup in Bangladesh.

Fiji lost all six matches.

Jurgensen says the World Cup was a big learning curve for Fiji but it was pleasing to watch some players shine on the big stage.

He says some players who showed improvement were Peni Vuniwaqa, Cakacaka Tikoisuva and Josaia Baleicikoibia.

Five players from the current squad will be eligible to play at the next Under 19 World Cup in 2018.
