The Digicel Fiji sevens team lost in the Gold Coast 7s quarterfinal to England 26-12 and will now meet Samoa in the Plate semifinals at 5:14pm.
Samisoni Viriviri and Vucago Banitabua scored in each half for Fiji but it was not enough as England played with aggression especially in the breakdowns.
Fiji did not look settled at all throughout the game as passes did not connect, tackles were missed and some wrong options were taken at times.
Looking at other cup quarterfinal results, New Zealand hammered Samoa 40 nil and will meet England in the first cup semis.
In the bowl quarter finals USA lost 10-19 to Scotland, Canada beat Spain29 5, Argentina defeated Tonga 17-12 and France beat Portugal 26-14.
The Cup semis kicks off at 5.58pm and the Cup final will be played at 9.04pm.
