Fiji expected to host Melanesian Spearhead Group meeting
Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said many opportunities will also open up for exporters when the Pacific leaders meet here.
Sayed-Khaiyum said a number of incentives are also being considered for current and potential exporters.
He said Fiji has the potential to be exporting to countries like Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and other countries.
Sayed-Khaiyum said PNG has a population of in excess of six million people, which is more than New Zealand's population.
He said Vanuatu and Solomon Islands also have growing economies.
The Attorney General said these countries have growing demands and needs, right from building supplies to chicken, to nails, to garments.
He said Fiji exporters need to understand how they can go into these markets.
Meanwhile it was earlier revealed to Fijivillage News that a number of Pacific island leaders will be invited to attend the Melanesian Spearhead Group meeting.
