Fiji dubbed jewel of the pacific
These were the words of the Vice President of China when he met with Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola at the famous Ancient Chinese Forbidden City yesterday.
Vice President Xi Jinping said he still harbours very fond memories of Fiji and was intoxicated by the warm embracing welcome he received in the tiny Pacific Island during his stopover in Fiji in February last year.
Xi Jinping said each State must be allowed to determine for themselves their own path to political, social and economic developments without bullying and unwarranted pressure from outsiders.
He said each country knows what is good for its people and they must be given liberty to create wealth according to what they want and China is confident that Fiji has the wisdom to govern its own country for the benefits of its people.
Xi Jinping also added that Fiji is blessed with the three Ss B sea, sand and sun and hope that more and more Chinese will come as visitors to Fiji to discover it=s tranquil.
