Fiji has dropped a total of nine places in the overall FIFA World rankings released by the World Governing body.

Fiji dropped from 143rd spot to 152nd spot.

Fiji Football Association CEO Bob Kumar said the recent drop in rankings is because Fiji has not played any international games this year.

Kumar added with Australia and New Zealand making it into the FIFA World Cup, this saw the small ranked countries like Fiji and New Caledonia move down in rankings.

However he added that the standings will improve next year as they are currently in talks with some overseas countries to hold games with Fiji.
