The Digicel Fiji 7s team shrugged off a shaky first half performance to beat USA 36-7 in their first pool match of the Dubai 7s tournament.
Samisoni Viriviri scored the only try in the first half as USA hits back to level the scores 5 all at halftime.
Fiji came back strongly in the second half scoring five unanswered tries to claim victory.
Speedster Mosese Mawalu came of the bench to score two tries in his debut along with Samisoni Viriviri while Pio Tuwai and Samu Saqiwa both scoring to record their first victory.
Fiji will take on Canada in their second pool match at 12.46am and then take on England in their last pool match at 5.02am.
