The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team overcame a strong England side to win 14-7 in their second pool match of the Sydney 7s and also claiming a spot in the Cup Quarterfinals tomorrow.

Fiji had a slow start with England providing the pressure.

It was until the sixth minute when Fiji scored their first try through Aminiasi Tuimaba to give them a 7-0 lead.

They scored their second and final try through Jerry Tuwai following some good passing and foot work skills.

Fiji was leading 14-0 at halftime.

The English came back strong in the second half to score their lone try through their speedster Dan Norton in the second minute.

Norton outpaced the Fijian defence for his first try in the tournament so far.

Both sides continued putting the pressure on one another with mistakes after mistakes.

England’s Dan Bibby received the only yellow carded in the 5th minute of the second half for not being back 10 meters.

Fiji will now play their last pool game against Samoa at 10.07 tonight.

If Fiji tops their pool, they will face the runner up from pool D in the cup quarters which is either Australia or Argentina. 

The Cup quarterfinals begins at 1.16pm tomorrow, the semifinals kick off at 5.16pm while the final will begin at 9.56pm tomorrow.
