Fiji cruises through in first pool match
Ilai Tinai, Samisoni Viriviri and Benito Eremasi all scored two tries each.
Tinai started the scoring spree 30 seconds into the game before Viriviri scored two successive tries.
Tinai touched down for Fiji's fourth try in the first half to have a comfortable 24-0 lead.
Osea Kolinisau was shown the yellow card after a dangerous tackle on a Hong Kong player.
Jasa Veremalua showed some commitment in restarts after reclaiming three kick offs.
The home side came back firing early in the second half with courageous defense as they restricted the Digicel Fiji 7s side from scoring more tries.
Benito Eremasi came off the bench in the second half and scored two tries including a 100m dash to the try line.
Fiji will play Spain in its second game today at 2:06pm before their final pool match against Canada at 10:54pm.
The second day of the Hong Kong 7s will kick off at 1pm.
