Flying Fijians halfback, Nikola Matawalu showed a superb performance in the win for Fiji against Tonga 29-17 in the Pacific Nations Cup yesterday.

Tonga's Interim coach, Chris Hickey was asked who he would choose to be the best player for Fiji in yesterday's game.

He could only say without hesitation, the player wearing the number nine jersey.

Following the win Fiji has finished second as Samoa clinched the title after beating Japan last week.

Fiji scored five tries in the match to Malakai Mocetadra, two tries and one penalty from Metuisela Talebula and one try by Josefa Domolailai.

Flying Fijian coach, Inoke Male said that individual performance of the day is important.


Tongan's Interim Head Coach, Chris Hickey said that it was a good game.
