Fiji is amongst 39 nations and one economy certified to export shrimp into the United States.
In a statement, the US State Department said import of shrimp and shrimp products into the US is barred where harvesting may adversely affect some sea turtle species.
Fiji has been classed with eight nations and one economy which harvest shrimp using manual rather than mechanical means or use other shrimp fishing methods not harmful to sea turtles.
