Fiji is capable of attracting a total of 1.1 million tourists by 2016.

This has been revealed by Permanent Secretary for Tourism and Environment, Banuve Kaumaitotoya at the launch of the Fiji Tourism Development Plan for 2007 to 2016 at the Government Training Centre in Nasese.

Kaumaitotoya also said that with the projected scenario there should be 21,000 jobs available, 280 million in Government revenue, a total of 7000 more rooms and 1.4 billion dollars spent by the tourists while staying in Fiji for an average of 8 nights.
