Fiji bows out, Samoa through to semis
Paul Perez and Ken Pisi were the stars for the Samoans as they scored two tries each while Nikola Matawalu, Metuisela Talebula and Waisea Nayacalevu scored a try each for Fiji.
Samoa will now meet New Zealand in the second semifinal after the Kiwis thumped Argentina 40-5.
Tomasi Cama continued his brilliant form as he master minded their attack and he was sound on defense as well.
In the first quarter-final England scored a try on extra time after nippy half back Matt Turner showed blistering speed down the side line as he outpaced the South African defense.
Paul Treu’s men were on their way to the semifinal before Turner showed his class for England to book a semifinal spot.
The English will now meet Australia in the first semifinal.
Australia proved too good for world sevens champions Wales after winning 21-14.
Fiji born Daniel Yakapo was instrumental in Australia win as he scored a try and helped set up another two tries.
Fiji will now meet Argentina in the second plate semi final at 4:46pm.
The semifinal will be held at 5:08pm and the final will take place at 7:32pm.
