A 37 year old Fiji born plumber is on trial for the murder of a 16 month old baby in the High Court in Auckland.
Abinesh Kumar Sharma has been charged with the murder of Sachin Dhani in June 2007, and he is alleged to have shaken the baby violently and slammed him against a wall.
The High Court heard yesterday that the child's parents were sharing child minding responsibilities with Sharma and his wife, and on the night of 19th June, while babysitting five children, Sharma got angry and allegedly shook the child violently and threw him against the wall.
Sharma later told police that after an hour he was told by the other children that Sachin had fallen off the couch and hit his head on the coffee table after which he called Sachin's parents, Sashi and Suresh Dhani.
