Fiji born couple in Auckland Court for assault
this morning charged with assault on their four year old child.
A 35 year old plumber of Mt Wellington Abhinesh Kumar and 30 year old Dorin Sharma were charged in wake of investigations into the death of a 16 month old child Sachin Dhani who died of head injuries in a Auckland hospital this year.
Police found the badly inured child after stopping a car being driven erratically in June. Stuff.Com news agency reports that the Baby's relatives who were in the vehicle told police that they are trying to get the baby to the hospital.
A post mortem report showed that the baby died from blunt-force trauna to the head.
Abinesh Sharma was today charged with two counts of assault on his four year child on February 7th and April 25th this year while Dorin Sharma was charged with three counts of assault on the same child on Christmas day last year, in April and between January to May this year.
Both were released on Bail and are remanded to appear in court on the 9th of next month. An investigation into the baby’s death continues.
