The Vodafone Fiji 7s team has thumped South Africa 15-0 in their quarter final of the Scotland 7s to book a semi final clash against USA.

Fiji controlled the game well with their strong defence and patient style of attack.

The national side led 7-0 at half time with a try from lanky forward Semi Kunatani before Vatemo Ravouvou extended their lead with a penalty two minutes into the second half.

Coach Ben Ryan highlighted in his half time message the importance of scoring points from penalties.

Fiji continued to rattle South Africa’s attack with spot on defence which forced the series leaders into making mistakes.

Strong runner Savenaca Rawaca then scored Fiji’s last try two minutes to full time to seal their victory.

Fiji will now face USA at 2.58am Monday.

Looking at the other quarter finals, USA beat Australia 14-7, Canada and England are currently locked at 7-all in the third quarter finals while New Zealand will take on Scotland in the last quarter finals.

The final will be played at 5.50am tomorrow.

Meanwhile, New Zealand will join Fiji and South Africa in qualifying for the 2016 Rio Olympics after Australia loss in the Cup quater finals to USA.
