The Fijian and Solomon Islands governments have agreed with immediate effect to lift the suspension of air services between the two countries and to allow the designated airlines of both countries to provide air services.

A dispute between Fiji and the Solomon Islands over air service agreements prevented the national airlines of both countries from flying between Solomon Islands and Fiji since July last year.

Fiji Airways will now operate a weekly direct flight between Nadi and Honiara on Saturdays and a weekly flight between Nadi and Honiara via Port Villa.

Solomon Airlines will operate one weekly direct flight between Honiara and Nadi.

Attorney General and Minister for Aviation, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said both countries have also agreed to undertake regular annual consultations.
