The Vodafone Fiji Sevens side and Samoa are both looking to bounce back from early exits in Wellington last week as the Las Vegas Sevens kicks off this hour.
Samoa failed to qualify for the Cup quarter‑finals for the third tournament running and have slipped to ninth place in the overall standings, with only the top four earning an automatic spot at next year's Olympics in Rio.
Fiji slipped to third place after being knocked out by England in the Cup quarters.
Despite not being a fan of the narrow pitch in Las Vegas in previous years, coach Ben Ryan now believes it can work to Fiji's advantage.
Meanwhile earlier this week, Ryan hinted that lanky forward Semi Kunatani will be utilized again in the backlines after proving himself in Wellington.
Captain Osea Kolinisau is currently the seasons top try score with 171 tries.
Fiji will take on Samoa at 1.06pm before facing Wales at 4.02pm today.
They will then clash with rivals New Zealand at 9.05am tomorrow.
The Cup quarter-finals will be at 1.14pm tomorrow.
The Cup semis will kick off at 8.32am Monday while the final of the Las Vegas 7s will start at 11.25am Monday.
South Africa is the defending champions of the Vegas 7's.
