After recording their second win today, the Fiji women's hockey team is confident of making it to the next round of the Federation of International hockey league.

Fiji earlier thrashed Vanuatu 17-1 yesterday and then pipped New Zealand Maori 1-0 today.

Coach Shaun Corrie said they can surely make the trip to the next round.


The winner of this tournament will qualify for round two in India and play against some of the world's best hockey sides.

Meanwhile, the national men's team is heading into a penalty shoot out with New Zealand Maori after the game ended in a 4-all draw.

In other results, Samoa beat Vanuatu 4-1 in the women's division and in the men's Papua New Guinea beat Vanuatu 1-nil.

The tournament continues tomorrow.
