Ousted Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase is now hoping that the interim government has a change of heart in relation to the possible exclusion of the SDL party from the next elections.
Following the comments of the Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama in Vanuatu that he could possibly abrogate the constitution to ensure that the SDL does not participate in the elections, Qarase said this action would be illegal and Fiji will have an undemocratic election.
Commodore Bainimarama had told Fijivillage News earlier that the military and interim administration will now ensure that the SDL does not contest the next election as it continues to oppose the People's Charter process.
