Fiji Water Provides More Assistance
President of Fiji Water John Cochran who visited the flood affected areas last week to see the first hand damage done by the flooding has announced several relief measures to assist the flood victims after his trip.
This is after Fiji Water contributed $FJD900,000 to the Prime Minister's Relief and Rehabilitation Fund last week.
He said Fiji Water has air-freighted 5 x 21,000 litre water bags from New Zealand to supply water to flood stricken areas while Fiji Water trucks are supplying bulk Fiji Water to those in need in Ba, Nadi and the Sigatoka areas.
Meanwhile, Fiji Water's Director of External Affairs and Development David Roth has confirmed that Fiji Water will be providing more than $145,000 for urgent repair work and provision of education materials and services to 26 schools in the western division.
The company has also purchased over 40,000 exercise and study books for affected schools and students and Roth said Fiji Water staff are engaged in volunteer programs to help the Red Cross, Rotary Club and Save the Children Fiji.
