The Fiji Water Centennial 7s may be the last tournament for the Papua New Guinea rugby side for the year but it's the most important one.

Coach Warren Jennings said while most teams will use the tournament as a testing ground before the Gold Coast 7s for them this is their last chance to qualify for next year's Hong Kong 7s.

Jennings added that five players who took part in the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s are in the team which is captained by Douglas Guise which also includes speedster Albert Levi.

PNG is pooled with Tuvalu, Cook Islands and Fiji.

Meanwhile, Westfield Barbarians and Wardens rugby clubs will participate in the Fiji Water Centennial International 7s next week.

Wardens and Westfield Babas will play against Argentina, USA and France.

The tournament will be held next Friday and Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
