Defending champions of the Pacific Rugby Cup, Fiji Warriors continued their fine form beating Rebel Rising 27-22 in Melbourne last night.

This means that as the three Pacific Island teams head off to New Zealand for matches against the country’s five Super Rugby development teams, only the Fiji Warriors and Samoa A have tasted victory on Australian soil.

The Warriors also won their first game against Brisbane Academy by 24-17.

The other matches saw Tonga A lose 32-18 to the Australian Rugby Union’s Sydney based National Academy, Samoa A went down 34-11 to the Western Force A team and PRC debutants Junior Japan were thrashed 76-26 by the Brisbane based National Academy.

The Warriors next match is against the Highlanders Development next Monday at 4:30pm.
