The 2008 IRB Pacific Rugby Cup burst into life last night when the Air Pacific Fiji Warriors won a thrilling opening match with Tautahi Gold by 21 - 19.
The Warriors survived a late second half fight back to hold on for the victory with tries to Rupeni Nasiga and Timoci Nagica while Waisea Luveniyali kicked three penalties and converted one of the tries to seal the victory.
Meanwhile Air Pacific Fiji Barbarians face the Savai Samoa today at 4pm in Apia.
