The Fiji Under 23 soccer was held 1-all against Solomon Islands in the first match of the Four Nations Friendship Cup in Vanuatu last night.

The team was trailing 1-0 when the Solomon’s side scored in the first half.

Fiji’s Rusiate Matarerega and Edward Justin missed golden opportunities to equalise however Labasa’s Christopher Wasasala equalised in the 72nd minute.

The Four Nations Friendship Cup has been organized for the first time where Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon’s and New Caledonia will play round robin matches.

Meanwhile in the Pacific Games, Fiji is in group A with Tahiti, Vanuatu and the Federated State of Micronesia.

The Fiji Under 23 soccer team will play its first group match against Vanuatu at 4pm on the 3rd of next month.
