The Vodafone Fiji Under-20 soccer team has received a cheque of $50,000 from the Fiji Sports Commission ahead of the OFC Under 20 Championship which starts tomorrow.

This will be a major boost for the team as they try to win this championship and qualify for the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand next year.

Fiji Football Association CEO, Bob Kumar said the money will help them in meeting the participation costs for the championship.

The Fiji Under-20 side will play American Samoa at 2.30pm tomorrow at the ANZ stadium in its first match.

The Championship will be played on a round robin basis and the team with the most points will qualify for the FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
