The Vodafone Fiji Under 20 soccer side has a good chance of booking their spot for the Under 20 Soccer World Cup after an impressive 2-nil victory over New Caledonia last night.

Striker Samuela Nabenia scored in the third minute of the second half after being set up by a header form Saula Waqa.

Fiji gained confidence after the goal and applied pressure which resulted in a penalty in the 65th minute and Tony Tuivuna made no mistake to increase Fiji’s lead.

Fiji’s next match is against Papua New Guinea at 2.30pm tomorrow.

Fiji currently leads the points table of the competition with 6 points from two matches followed by Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu who both have 4 points each after two matches.
