Vanuatu has become the first team to qualify for the semifinals of the OFC U 20 Championship after beating Fiji two-nil in their Group A clash in Auckland this afternoon.

A goal in each half sealed victory for Vanuatu who move to six points after earlier beating American Samoa 7-0 in their opening match.

Fiji meanwhile have only managed one point from their two games with Papua New Guinea likely to claim second spot in Group A.

Fiji coach Ravinesh Kumar said the finishing has not been good enough in the two matches and was disappointed with the two-nil loss.

Fiji’s last pool match is against American Samoa at 1pm on Monday.
