National Under 20 coach Viliame Gadolo is asking the Fiji Rugby Union to create a new pathway for players.

Gadolo highlighted in his presentation at the FRU Centenary Conference that players did not have enough game time before going into the Junior Rugby World Cup.

The former national hooker said an average Under 20 player plays about 19 top level games before making the national team while overseas players have an average of 30 top level games.

Gadolo added his major concern is that some of the Digicel Cup and Coca Cola Zero Deans matches are not competitive.

He is proposing that Fiji should have a national Under 17 team.

FRU Chief Executive Officer Manasa Baravilala said they are now looking at the competition model, an area which former Flying Fijians Coach Ilivasi Tabua also suggested at the conference.
