The Vodafone Fiji Under 20 soccer side is now only one game away from qualifying for the FIFA Under 20 World Cup after they beat Papua New Guinea 3-nil in the OFC Under 20 Championship yesterday.

Goals were scored by Altaaf Sahib, Mataisi Toma and Saula Waqa Junior.

Looking at the scenario after the third round, Fiji just needs to beat Vanuatu tomorrow to create history and qualify to their first ever World Cup.

This comes after Solomon Islands lost to New Caledonia 3-1 yesterday.

A win over Vanuatu will see Fiji secure a maximum of 12 points and even if they lose to Solomon Islands in their last match Fiji will still lead the points table.

PNG already has a loss and a draw while Solomon Islands, New Caledonia and American Samoa all have two losses each.

Fiji will face Vanuatu at 5pm tomorrow and then take on Solomon Islands at 7.30pm Saturday.
