History has been created after the Fiji Under 18 rugby team beat New Zealand schoolboys 22-20 last night.

This is the first time the Fiji Schoolboys have beaten the New Zealand schoolboys.

Fiji scored four tries in the match.

Seveci Nakailagi of the Assemblies of God High and Rupeni Vakasilimi of Ratu Navula College scored two tries for Fiji in the first half.

Sakiusa Boletawa got the third for Fiji but the last and most crucial try came through the hands of Marist Brothers High School student Viliame Kikau which was converted by Manoa Nakolilevu.

Team Captain Mesulame Dolokoto said they will never forget this match and it is a memorable victory.

He said they were trailing in the match but never lost hope and also had the backing of the Fijian community in Australia.

This was Fiji’s second match on the tour.

The Fiji Under 18 team defeated New South Wales Country team 
74-10 in their first match.

The Fiji Under 18 rugby team’s next match will be against Australia schoolboys next Tuesday.
