Fiji will be hosting next year's Melanesian Spearhead Group Leaders Summit.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau said Fiji is required to host the next series of meeting due to the rotational basis and Fiji has been requested to host the next series of meetings.
Ratu Epeli said that the 2009 meetings will be hosted to ensure that the MSG becomes a strong and vibrant sub-regional entity in the Pacific.
He also said that Fiji will also consider contributing to the establishment of the Secretariat.
