Winger Osea Kolinisau ran in 3 tries in the first half in their game against Mexico to see the halftime scoreboard read 33-0.
Just minutes into the second half, Peni Rokodiva ran from 40 metres in the Fiji side to score and successfully convert his try.
Earlier, the Digicel Fiji Sevens team defeated Wales this morning 35-14 after running in 5 tries to Wales’ 2 tries.
Forward Etonia Naba showed his speed in the first two minutes of the first half when he sprinted from half way to the try-line with Peni Rokodiva scoring in the 4th minute of play and converting both tries.
Replacement forward Pio Tuwai also showed his class when he scored two tries in the second half with Seremaia Burotu scoring the last try for Fiji.
Fiji has their last pool game against Argentina at 12.45pm this afternoon.
Meanwhile, Uruguay has given the USA Sevens its first shock result when they beat last weekend’s loosing semifinalists Kenya 14-12 in their opening pool game.
In other results, Argentina beat Mexico 45-0, England beat Scotland 22-12, Samoa beat Japan 33-7 and New Zealand beat France 22-12.
