Fiji Through To George Quarters
Fiji came through their pool unbeaten with well earned wins against Scotland 31-0, then they went on to beat Zimbabwe 24-14 before outclassing Argentina 26-7.
In the last pool game this morning against Argentina, the Emosi Vucago captained side showed their class when they scored four tries to one.
Vucago led by example scoring the first try before Iveri Lavo touched down for a 14-nil lead at halftime.
Jerry Burotu marked his return to the starting line-up with a double for the 26-7 win.
The upset of the tournament was in Pool D where Portugal beat Wales 19-17 and then they edged Kenya 14-12 before an outstanding performance to win against favourites Samoa 19-17.
Portugal, the pool winners from group D will take on Argentina in the second quarterfinal at 10.21 tonight.
Defending champions New Zealand remain on course for a back to back win after a revenge of last week's defeat to England this morning where they recorded a 19-7 win.
In the last pool game, South Africa beat Australia 17-7.
The Kiwis will take on USA in the first quarterfinal at 9.59pm.
In the second quarterfinal at 10.21pm, Portugal will face Argentina before Fiji will play Samoa in the 3rd quarterfinal at 10.43pm.
Hosts South Africa will feature in the last quarterfinal in a repeat of last week's final against England at 11.05pm.
Looking at the results of this morning's pool games, New Zealand beat England 19-7, Samoa edged Kenya 17-12, Portugal beat Wales 19-12 and USA beat Australia 28-26.
