Fiji will be a side to beat when the Pacific Cup Hockey tournament starts this hour at the National Hockey turf.

Fiji Hockey Federation will field three teams in the tournament and are expecting all teams to perform well.

Coach Hector Smith said Fiji Warriors and Fiji women's team have a better chance of doing well than the President's 11.

Smith said winning is the top priority but at the same time he will gauge the players who can don the national jersey for next year's Mini Pacific Games in Cook Islands.

Meanwhile New Zealand women’s hockey coach Abraham Peurau is also wary of the Fiji hockey sides.
