The Fiji Taxi union said that they will be monitoring the situation closely after which they will decide on their next step on whether to join the protest by the bus operators or assist the Transport Ministry.

General Secretary Rishi Ram's comments comes after Ministry of Transport's Media Officer Selina Waqainabete said the Interim Minister for Transport Timoci Natuva is in the process of initiating contingency plans as they are not taking the threat to cease bus services lightly.

Ram adds that if everything comes to a standstill, then they will conduct an emergency meeting.

He adds that they had a meeting with the Land Transport Authority yesterday and was told to hand in their submissions.
