The Fiji Street Party has come a long way from humble beginnings, only fifteen hundred people in attendance to now, thousands.
Organisers Total Event Company say the Street Party first started nine years ago with people not used to the concept of dancing and having real clean fun in public to herald in the New Year.
Manager Loretta Jackson however said now the Fiji Street Party boasts the biggest New Year's event, which is for everyone and free.
Jackson said this year they are expecting 25-35,000 people to be present at the Fiji Street Party.
It will be held this Thursday at the Albert Park from 7pm to 1am.
