Fiji Ports Corporation Limited continues to search for more than half a billion dollars in funding from overseas for the relocation of the container cargo facilities from the Kings wharf to Rokobili, located opposite the Suva cemetery.
Fiji Ports Chairman Commander Semi Koroilavesau confirmed that they continue to explore the best possible means to secure the $550 million needed for the project. He said they are also awaiting the green light from the interim cabinet.
Commander Semi said shifting the container facilities to Rokobili will allow more cruise liners to berth at the main Kings wharf and also help reduce congestion within the general Suva area.
