The Fiji Police Force has taken a pro-ctive role in implementing a life skill training programme for sex workers in a bid to alleviate unemployment.

The Force has teamed up with the Ministry of Women and the Rescue Mission Community Association and has started a pilot counseling programme to establish a network with sex workers.

The training programme, which will be funded by the Ministry for Women, is expected to begin in four months time and will cover courses like Hotel and Catering, Beauty Therapy and Care giving programmes.

There are 12 sex workers who are currently the pioneer group for this life skill training programme.
