"Cut one tree plant three"
This is the motto adopted by Fiji Pine Limited as it tries to ensure that pine plantations are not completely wiped out once the harvesting period starts.
Board member Ratu Jolame Lewanavanua said while they are continuing with their campaign to plant one million pine trees, they want to ensure that they exceed that target even when harvesting starts.
Lewanavanua said the harvesting will start once Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama approves the winning tender application.
The Government had earlier put out a tender process calling on interested companies willing to harvest pine plantations.
