The Fiji Pearls still remain unbeaten after a successful victory over Samoa 64-48 in the semifinal playoff last night.

They will meet the PNG Pepes in the gold medal final at 3pm today.

In Boxing,  Fiji’s Viliame Vitukalulu has qualified for the gold medal final today after beating PNG’s Lucas Wakore in the men’s heavyweight 91kg division yesterday.

He will fight against Tahiti Boxer Heimata Neuffer at 1pm.

Winston Hill won by points against Samoan Boxer Fifita Mosese Pousoo in the Welterweight semifinals.

Hill will now face Louis Danglebermes of New Caledonia in the gold medal final at 1pm.

In the Light Heavyweight division, Tina Ruata won by knockout against Holyfield Riga of Solomon Islands.

He will now fight New Caledonia Boxer Luke Hema in the gold medal final at 1pm.

In the women’s hockey, Fiji has qualified in the final after thrashing Tonga 21-1 in the semifinal.

The women’s hockey team will face Papua New Guinea in the gold medal final at 3pm today.

While the men’s hockey team have also qualified for the gold medal final and will take on Papua New Guinea at 4.30pm today.

In soccer, the Vodafone Fiji Soccer U23 team lost to PNG 2-1 in the bronze medal final.

Finally in Beach Volleyball, the Men’s team have qualified for the gold medal final at 4pm today against Papua New Guinea.

Looking at the medal tally, Papua New Guinea is still leading with 73 gold, 61 silver and 56 bronze, New Caledonia is in second place with 57 gold, 47 silver and 52 bronze, Tahiti is in third place with 35 gold, 28 silver and 35 bronze.

Team Fiji is in fourth place with 29 gold, 39 silver and 33 bronze.
