The Fiji Pearls have failed to reach the qualifying rounds of the Netball World Cup in Sydney after they lost to Uganda 61-40 in their second pool match this afternoon.
Uganda dominated possession from the first quarter and outclassed Fiji in all areas of the court.
Fiji had 15 contact penalties in the match.
The Fiji Pearls were favourites to win this match as they were ranked 7th compared Uganda who were ranked 14th.
They had lost to Wales 59-52 in their opening Netball World Cup match yesterday.
Uganda and Wales look set to finish as the top two qualifiers from pool D.
Zambia were beaten 74-38 by Uganda yesterday.
Fiji’s third pool game is against Zambia at 5.20pm tomorrow.
