Pearls from Fiji will take center stage at an International auction in Japan tomorrow which is expected to rake in over $1 million in a day of sales.
Speaking to Fijivillage Managing Director of J Hunter Pearls based in Savusavu Justin Hunter said this is a very unique opportunity to show that Fiji can produce some of the best pearls in the world.
Hunter said while Fiji pearl farmers are competing with some of the larger producers, such as Tahiti, the pearl industry in Fiji has potential to stamp its mark and become a multimillion dollar industry for the country.
The Auction takes place in Tokyo Japan tomorrow.
