Fiji started their Pacific Netball Series campaign on a high after a comprehensive win over PNG 70-29 last night.

Superb defense from captain Mere Neiliko and Matila Waqanidrola laid the platform as goal shooters Taraima Mitchell and Maria Lutua were on top of their game after scoring 42 goals between them.

Super sub Unaisi Rauluni scored 21 goals for Fiji after displaying a mesmerizing performance which drew the attention of the crowd.

Coach Unaisi Rokoura said that the girls never looked back from the first whistle and played according to their game plan.

Rokoura adds she was impressed with her young players.


Fiji will play its second game against Samoa at 5:15 this afternoon.

Meanwhile Samoa defeated the Cook Islands 49-40 while the Under 21 hammered Vanuatu 63-30 in the tier two competition.
