The Fiji Media Council stresses that the media in Fiji will not be intimidated and will continue to carry out its duty, irrespective of the tactics employed by the interim government in deporting Fiji Times Publisher Evan Hannah this morning.
Speaking at a press conference this afternoon, Media Council Chairman Daryl Tarte stressed that such moves will not sway the media and will not stop them from reporting the truth to the public.
After an emergency meeting of the Media Council this morning, Tarte said they are shocked at the actions taken against Hannah.
