Fiji Likely To Meet South Africa
Fiji managed to win all their pool games last night beating Canada by 29-5, thrashing Portugal 39-0 and coming through a nail-biting 12-10 win over Australia in their last pool game this morning.
Speaking to Fijivillage, team manager Opetai Ravai said they would take each game at a time but all games ahead of them will be tough.
Defending London and series champions New Zealand were far from convincing and coach Gordon Tietjens, though very disappointed, said they had taken a few notes as they advance into the quarterfinals tonight.
The first quarterfinal between New Zealand and England kicks off at 11:28pm, Samoa meets Portugal at 11:50pm, then the Fiji take on Scotland at 12:12am and the last quarterfinal will see South Africa take on Argentina at 12:34am.
The semifinals kick off at 3:44am and the finals will be held at 5:52am.
