Fiji National Rugby League is hoping that the Interim Government will also assist them for next year’s World Cup in Australia.

President Peni Musunamasi said that they hope that in the budget announcement on Friday there will be an allocation for rugby league to help them in their preparations.

He said although Vodafone is sponsoring the team, they also need close to $200,000 from the Interim Government to cover all their costs.

Musunamasi added that since the interim government has assisted both the rugby union and netball for their World Cup preparations, they are hoping that the same treatment will be accorded to them.

Fiji Bati has a good chance to qualify for the semifinal stages of the Rugby League World Cup, as they have been drawn with Scotland and France.
