In a public notice, the Council of the Fiji Law Society said they have considered the various proposals contained in the said People's Charter for Change and Progress, and adds that it cannot support such a Charter unless and until the Republic of Fiji is returned to a democratic government.

The notice goes on to say that it is only a democratic government that ought to implement the proposals and ideas that are contained in the Charter.

It read that if the Fiji Law Society took part in such a process than it would be seen that they would be accepting the events of 5th December 2006.
