The Fiji government has signed an agreement with the Japanese government as part of phase two of construction of the Multi-Purpose Lecture theatre for Information and Communication Technology at USP.
This is part of the $46 million committed by the Japanese Government for the construction of the theatre.
At the signing ceremony, Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola said this is part of Japans continued support for Fiji and the region.
Japanese Ambassador to Fiji, Yutaka Yoshizawa revealed that in February 2010, JICA will commence the implementation of a three year Japanese Technical Cooperation for the ICT, for human development and security, which will include the designing of two new bachelor courses in Computer Science and Information Systems.
The second phase of construction of the Lecture theatre will be completed by March 2010.
