The government is to sign an Air Service Agreement with Hong Kong open air routes between the two countries by later this year.

Acting Prime Minister Ratu Epeli Ganilau told cabinet that the agreement is envisaged to lead to meaningful bilateral relationships between Fiji and Hong Kong in areas of trade, tourism and increased interaction.

Ratu Epeli said that the agreed air services that are scheduled to commence with effect from December 3rd 2009 are intended to open air routes to the lucrative routes into Asia and on to Europe and the United States.
