The Fiji Men's Hockey team is expecting the Oceania Pacific Cup Hockey Tournament, which kicks off on Saturday, to be much stronger than the SPG.
Coach Hector Smith said the inclusion of teams like the New Zealand Maori, NZ Barbarians and Australian Country, means they will have to step up their preparations to match their opponents.
Smith adds winning the SPG finals will not carry any weight to the Pacific Cup and the players have prepared well knowing every game is like a final to the team.
The Fiji Men's opening game on Saturday is against the Fiji Warriors Team and it will kick-off at 4.30pm.
In the Women's Division, Fiji will face teams like Samoa, NZ Maori and Australian Country.
The weeklong event will finish on the 12th of December.
